Gaeil Colmcille was formed in 1964 and is located in the town of Kells. The Club won the intermediate football championship last october and as a result play in senior grade next year.
the Club won three Keegan cups winning the first back in 1966, and also has four intermediate hurling titles the most recent one coming in 2008. Gaeil Colmcille have three new pitches at Grangegodden a short journey outside of the town. These pitches help enormously to facilitate the growing population of the club, in particular under-age football and hurling.
Gaeil Colmcille have three football teams Senior, Junior B and junior D, one intermediate Hurling team and all under-age football and Hurling teams as well as a ladies team from under age up to minor. The club also has a pitch and putt club which is part of Gaeil Colmcille CLG and located in the Gaelic centre.
The Gaelic centre has a Bar and Hall, which is opened seven Days from 8-30 pm and also hosts many functions e g, Birthday parties etc. and the hall is used as a training facility and various other functions. The sponsors of the club are the Headfort Arms Hotel for Football, Annie Mae’s Bar, who sponsor the Hurling team and Kelly road markings who sponsor all under-age teams.
