One alteration for Tailteann Cup quarter final

Ahead of Saturday’s Tailteann Cup quarter final against Wexford at 16:00 in Páirc Tailteann, Meath have opted for minimal changes in personnel on both the starting XV and replacements bench with just two alterations in total.  With three wins from three in the group stage of the competition, Colm O’Rourke has opted to go down the route of consistency in selection.

Having dropped out of the team for the game against Down two weeks ago, Daithí McGowan returns to the starting lineup and he will line out at right half forward with Ciaran Caulfield reverting to the replacements bench.  Among the substitutes, Michael Murphy could be in line for a debut as the St. Peter’s Dunboyne clubman replaces John O’Regan who himself made his debut in Round 2 when coming on as a replacement against Waterford.

Adam O’Neill who starred when winning a Comórtas Peile na Gaeltacht medal with Wolfe Tones two days after helping Meath defeat Down continues at corner back in an unchanged full back line along with Ronan Ryan and Harry O’Higgins.  The by now familiar looking half back line of Donal Keogan, Padraic Harnan and Sean Coffey continue to build their partnership while Sean Brennan is once more selected in goals.

At midfield, Ronan Jones and Conor Gray line out together at midfield for a fourth game in succession.  Further forward, James McEntee continues at centre forward and he is flanked by Daithí McGowan and Jack O’Connor.  The full forward line remains unchanged with Jordan Morris, Mathew Costello and Aaron Lynch once more being selected.
