The below is a tribute to the late Richie Rennicks by his club, Kilbride GFC.
We remember Richard “Richie” Rennicks of the Kilbride Club in Co Meath. We mourn the passing of a truly remarkable player and friend., leaving behind a legacy that extends far beyond the pitch. A Legacy of Passion and Dedication right up until his passing.
A Distinguished Player for Club and County, Richie was known for his exceptional talent and dedication to the game. He proudly played with the Kilbride Club in Co Meath, He also played for the Meath seniors footballers under the legendary Sean Boylan,
Tragically, Richie’s playing career was cut short due to a serious knee injury. Yet, his love for the sport never waned.
Despite facing recent health challenges, Richie was a beacon of support for his club. Last October, he was present at Pairc Tailteann in Navan, enthusiastically cheering on his club Kilbride as they claimed victory in the intermediate final, marking a triumphant return to Senior football after an absence of 47 years .
Richie was not just loved in Kilbride; his impact resonated throughout Meath. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, warmth, and unwavering support for his teammates and community.
As we reflect on Richie’s life, let us celebrate his contributions to the game and the love he shared with all of us. May he rest in peace, knowing he will always be remembered fondly by his friends, family, and the entire Kilbride community, One of our own gone too soon.
