Opening weekend of Hurling Championship action concludes today

The opening weekend of the Hurling Championships draws to a conclusion today with a programme of five games across three different competitions.

There are two games down for decision in the Loman Dempsey Property Consultants Senior B Hurling Championship with the first throwing in at 17:30 in Athboy when last year’s defeated finalists Longwood face off against Navan O’Mahonys.

Then at 19:30 in Ratoath, there is a fascinating clash between Dunderry and Blackhall Gaels.  Dunderry have welcomed Jamie Leavy missed last year’s Championship for Dunderry and his return strengthens them while Blackhall could be lining out minus the services of joint-captain Shane Whitty who is named amongst the replacements.

Beaten finalists in 2025, Rathmolyon get their Abbey Pharmacy Intermediate Hurling Championship campaign up and running with a clash against Gaeil Colmcille in Boardsmill at 19:30.  Fresh from plundering the Division 2 League, can ‘The Village’ maintain their promising form or will the Kells side take them down?

There are two games in the Abbey Pharmacy Intermediate B Hurling Championship as Trim face Kiltale at 17:00 in Kilmessan and Kilmessan and Kildalkey face off at 19:30 in Kiltale.
