Outgoing Chairman John Kavanagh received great praise from club delegates at Monday evening’s Annual Convention where he was replaced by Jason Plunkett from the Clonard club who narrowly defeated Na Fianna’s Damien Griffin in the contest for the Chair.
Kavanagh in his address to the delegates gave an update on development plans for Páirc Tailteann and the Centre of Excellence in Dunganny as well as praising the CCC for the remarkable job they have done and continue to do in running our competitions. He stressed on the importance of clubs in communicating the fixture planner to all players as he was surprised at a recent hurling meeting how many players were unaware that clubs receive the planner with a full schedule of games at the outset of each season.
Another element of his address alluded to the fact that elected officers are there to serve the clubs and not for personal interests when he said that he hopes nobody runs for position for personal ego or personal agenda and that we are here for the sixty clubs.
The full list of elected officers can be seen below.
At the convention, Treasurer Gene Smith informed delegates that a debtor has paid €200,000 with the remainder of the money to be paid in full over the next two years.
