Two changes for Derry trip

Meath travel to Derry on Saturday for the second time this season and do so off the back of an encouraging victory over Tyrone last weekend in Round 2 of the Christy Ring Cup after falling to defeat against London on the opening weekend.

Off the back of that win over Tyrone, Johnny Greville and the Meath brains trust have made two alterations in personnel for the trip to the north west as Nicky Potterton who is one of the joint captains on the panel and Kris Gorman come into the side in place of Seán Quigley and Cian Rogers.

James Kelly drops back from the wing back berth of last week to right corner back and he lines out in the full back line alongside Darragh Kelly and Kyle Donnelly with Colm O’Riordan once more behind them in goals.

James Toher anchors the defence at centre back and he is flanked by the Longwood pair of Mickey Burke and Seán Coloe.

There is a new look midfield pairing as Joey Cole & Daire Shine link up.  The two additions to the starting XV both come in to the side in the half forward line with Kris Gorman at right half forward and Nicky Potterton at centre forward.  2023 Christy Ring Cup Player of the Year Jack Regan completes the half forward line.

The inside line sees Damien Healy at top of the right, Mikey Cole on the edge of the square and Lorcan Byrne at left corner forward.
