The third and final round in Group A of the Bradys Skoda sponsored Regional Football Championship takes place this evening (Tuesday) with an appetising double header on the cards in Dunganny.
Boyne Valley and Bru na Boinne sit atop of the table with three points apiece after their opening two games but both know a slip up this evening and they could miss out on the knockout stages as Tara sit nicely poised in behind them on two points.
Boyne Valley appear to have the slightly easier task when they take on an Addbraccan side who have no points from their two games to date but that doesn’t tell the full story as they were very unfortunate not to take something from the opening round game against Bru na Boinne in Donore.
The Bru na Boinne and Tara game is the epitome of a winner takes all battle with both sides knowing a win puts them through and potentially secures top spot in the group but Bru na Boinne do of course have the slightly added comfort of knowing that a draw would be sufficient for them to progresss.
An interesting evening awaits in the Centre of Excellence.
