Dunganny, 10th of February 2025– The Meath Minor Hurling team recently hosted a Positive Mental Health event in collaboration with Jigsaw, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health. The event focused on the importance of sleep for mental and physical well-being, reinforcing the connection between rest, performance, and overall health.

Jigsaw’s expert-led presentation by Brenda provided valuable insights into how quality sleep supports concentration, resilience, and recovery—key factors for young athletes both on and off the pitch. The session encouraged open discussions about mental well-being, equipping players with practical tools to develop healthier sleep routines.

Speaking at the event, Meath Minor Hurling Manager Ray O’Connor emphasized the team’s commitment to mental health awareness: “Performance isn’t just about training hard; it’s about taking care of yourself in every way. This session with Jigsaw was an important reminder that sleep is a game-changer, both mentally and physically.”

The event aligns with Meath Minor Hurling  ongoing efforts to promote holistic player development, ensuring young athletes receive support beyond their sporting commitments.
