Four regions. All grades. One title. The countdown is on.
The 2026 Bradys Automotive Regional Football Championship was officially launched last week. Players and management from the four regional teams came together for the media night, and the new Bradys Automotive regional jerseys were unveiled ahead of throw-in on Sunday 1 November at Devenish Park, Dunganny.
This is the first year of the new-look championship. The competition has been streamlined from eight teams to four, and for the first time it brings together players from senior, intermediate and junior clubs across the county. The original regional format was well received. Feedback showed that a tighter competition was needed to raise standards, renew interest and make every game count. A place on a regional squad is now hard-earned.
A Clear Pathway to the Meath Senior Set-Up
The championship is a key step in Meath football’s player pathway: performance at club level, to performance at regional level, to performance at adult inter-county level.
Meath senior football manager Robbie Brennan and his management team will use the competition as the first measure of potential. Standout performers may be invited into the senior or senior development squads. Players of any age are eligible, and each squad numbers 20 to 25 players.
Thank You to Bradys Automotive
Meath GAA is delighted to have Bradys Automotive as sponsor of the Regional Football Championship again. Their support gives club players from every grade the chance to compete at a higher level and showcase their talent, and this year it includes the new regional jerseys launched last week. The County Board, clubs and players sincerely thank Bradys Automotive for their continued commitment to Gaelic football in Meath.
Thank you also to mí meath, sponsors of the championship’s Player of the Week award.
