The opening weekend of action in the Meath Football Championships has drawn to a conclusion and what a weekend of thrills and spills we have had since the action threw in with the meeting of Slane and Moylagh in the Coolrite Junior B Football Championship on Thursday in Páirc Tailteann.
Skryne, Simonstown Gaels and Summerhill all recorded victories on Sunday in the Fairyhouse Steel Senior Football Championship, with the Skryne result perhaps being the most eye catching of the three as they downed neighbouring Ratoath as they build upon a promising League campaign.
In the Meade Farm Intermediate Football Championship on Sunday, there were wins for Nobber, Moynalvey and Walterstown who came storming back in the second half to take down Navan O’Mahonys with Ollie Maloney being the hero of the hour with a well taken hattrick.
