The race for the Jubilee Cup gets underway

The race for the Jubilee Cup gets underway this evening when two of the leading protagonists face off in Páirc Tailteann at 19:30 in the first of six games in the Ted Murtagh Clothing & Footwear, Trim Senior Hurling Championship opening round which will be played in the county grounds.

The Group B fixture pits Ratoath who were defeated in the decider last October up against a Kiltale side who won the LMES Ltd. Division 1 League last week in impressive fashion when defeating Trim.

Kiltale have held James Kelly and Mark O’Sullivan in reserve and will look to the likes of team captain Iarla Hughes at full back, Philip Garvey, Cathal McCabe & Peter Durnin to lead the way along with Jack Regan who missed out on the county campaign earlier in the year when away travelling.

If the Ratoath forward line plays as selected then it has the capability to be as good as any attack in the county with the McGowan brothers, Daithí and Gavin joined by Cian Rogers, Sean Corbett and ace free taker Padraig O’Hanrahan along with former Meath Minor captain Cian Kelly who is better known as a defender but whose ball winning abilities at wing forward could prove to be crucial.

This is an all ticket match and tickets are available via the link: Ratoath v Kiltale Tickets
