U-20’s reveal Leinster Final selection

Twelve months on and the same protagonists remain as Meath and Louth contest the Dalata Hotel Group Leinster U-20 Football Championship Final on Wednesday evening in the new venue of Cedral St. Conleth’s Park, Newbridge.

When the counties met in the 2024 decider, it was the young Meath men who came out on top but how much can be read into that game given the turnover in players from year to year given the nature of underage competitions.  Meath have only three members of the 2024 starting line-up who are starting again in this year’s decider.

Cathal Ó Bric and his management team have named an unchanged side from that which defeated Kildare in the penultimate round and have made one alteration among the replacements bench as Aaron Farrelly returns to the match day panel in place of Evan Kelly.

Matthew Kealy continues between the uprights in goals and he will once more have Sam Jordan, Rian Early and CIaran O’Hare in front of him in the full back line.  Fiach Hartigan who switched into centre back a week ago continues in that role and he is flanked by team captain Tadgh Martyn and Finn White.

Eamonn Armstrong and Michael McIvor will link up at midfield and the now familiar half forward line of the knockout stages continues as Rian Stafford, John Harkin and Zach Thornton continue in their roles.  Meanwhile Ben Corkery, Jamie Murphy and Liam Jennings make up the full forward line.
