2022 Champions Summerhill booked their place in the PR Coyne Football League Division 1 Final when defeating Donaghmore/Ashbourne by four points on Thursday evening in what was a repeat of their 2023 Fairyhouse Steel SFC semi-final.
The Conor Gillespie side now await the winner of Saturday’s second semi-final in Trim which will see Ballinabrackey and Skryne meeting once more after their recent final round meeting.
In the same division, Wolfe Tones secured another year at the top level when beating neighbours Simonstown Gaels by three points in Paddy O’Brien Park.
There was great disappointment for Walterstown when they were consigned to Division 3 Football for 2025 when Duleek-Bellewstown defeated them by five points in Seneschalstown and they were joined in falling through the JM Food Services Division 2 Football League trapdoor by Syddan who lost out to Moynalvey.
In the JMB Sportsfield Services Division 4 Football League, there was drama in Nobber when Castletown, who had nominated their neighbouring club as the host venue due to ongoing works on their own pitch, were defeated after extra-time by Ratoath while in Moynalty, Ballinlough had a comfortable victory over neighbouring Drumbaragh Emmets.
The second of the Tommy Dowd Oil sponsored Division 5 semi-finals was also played and it saw Slane dispatch of the challenge of Cortown to secure promotion and book a place in the final which will be a repeat of last year’s Coolrite Junior B Football Championship decider against Moynalty.
