With the start of the inter-county season just a month away, the first opportunity to see a Meath team in action comes this evening (Monday) when an experimental starting fifteen will be in action against the Regional All-Star selection in Dunganny, where the action throws in at 20:00.
Entry this evening is €5 with all proceeds being donated to Charity. This is not a ticketed game.
Just two players who started the Tailteann Cup Final last Summer will be in action from the first whistle this evening as Sean Coffey lines out in his regular wing back role while Aaron Lynch will line out at corner forward.
Among the newcomers to the extended panel who will be in action this evening Niall Murphy from Curraha will take to the field at left corner back while Mark Coffey, younger brother of Sean, will join his sibling in the half back line. Cian McBride forms a centrefield partnership with Daithí McGowan. Two further newcomers will line out in the forwards as Jack Kinlough takes the number ten jersey while James Conlon marks his return by lining out at top of the left.
Hurler of the Year Brendan McKeon is rewarded for an excellent Bradys Skoda Regional Championship with a place at right half back for the All-Stars and he is one of two Moyfenragh players who start with former senior panellist Danny Dixon selected at full forward. Competition winners Boyne Valley have four on the team with Conor Farrelly, Daire Rowe, Darren Brennan and David McLoughlin all selected from the start.
