There is a busy schedule of games in the Club Football Championships on Saturday with games across the four Championships for first teams as well as in the Meath Cleaning Supplies Premier Football Championship. Who will take a big step towards qualification for the knockout stages and who will end the day in the relegation quagmire?
Tickets for all Fairyhouse Steel SFC, Meade Farm IFC, Balreask Bar, Restaurant & Guest Accomodation JFC, Coolrite JBFC JBFC and Meath Cleaning Supplies PFC Division 1 & 2 games are available via: Club Football Championship Tickets
Arguably the big game of the day is the meeting of Ratoath and Trim in Summerhill with Ratoath in danger of elimination from the Fairyhouse Steel Senior Football Championship should they lose and the other game in the group go agains them. Injuries appear to be a big issue in the club at present with a number of high profile names not listed among their named starting XV but they are boosted by the returning Jack Flynn who takes his place at midfield. Trim though also have a high profile returnee of their own with Aaron Lynch another who is back in the mix after a time in America during the summer.
The other game in Group D sees Skryne who were so impressive in downing Ratoath two weeks ago coming up against a Rathkenny side who must still be pondering how they left Páirc Tailteann empty handed fourteen days ago. Throw in for that game is at 18:15 and it will take place in Simonstown as part of a double header along with the meeting of Na Fianna and St. Colmcille’s in Group C. The sole game in Group B is the meeting of Curraha and Gaeil Colmcille in Páirc Tailteann with both sides in major need of a win after opening weekend losses.
In the Meade Farm Intermediate Football Championship, Castletown are looking to recover from an opening weekend defeat when they take on Duleek-Bellewstown in Seneschalstown. Duleek-Bellewstown just about edged out Longwood two weeks ago and this could be one of the games of the weekend. Oldcastle were downed by Drumbaragh Emmets twelve months ago, could lightning strike twice in Moylagh? And in Dunshaughlin, it’s a meeting of two sides who had contrasting fortunes in Round 1 when Blackhall Gaels and Bective meet. Will Bective pick up a much needed win?
The sole Balreask Bar, Restaurant & Guest Accomodation JFC game today is a fascinating meeting of Ballinlough and Dunderry in Drumbaragh. Ballinlough had a day to forget against St. Vincent’s while Dunderry got off to a good start against St. Brigid’s. Who will come out on top today?
