Meath travel to Owenbeg on Saturday evening to take on Derry and team manager Colm O’Rourke has put his faith in the team that defeated Clare two weeks ago for the trip to last years All-Ireland semi-finalists.  That means Shane Walsh who left the field early on against Clare has been deemed fit for the visit to Owenbeg.

Adam O’Neill, Michael Flood and Harry O’Higgins form the full back line, with all three players in their first year on the county senior panel.  Harry Hogan who has made the number 1 jersey his own over the last few years will once more pull on the goalkeepers jersey for his twentieth appearance, while the defence is anchored at centre back by team captain Donal Keogan.

The burgeoning midfield partnership of Ronan Jones and Daithí McGowan get another opportunity to build upon their showings against Cork and Clare while up front Donal Lenihan retains his place at full forward after netting a brace of goals against Clare.
