Flood captains Meath in Dioralyte O’Byrne Cup semi-final

Changes aplenty and there are thirteen in total on the Meath team which will take to the field this evening in Ashbourne from that which started last Saturday against Louth in the Dioralyte O’Byrne Cup semi-final.

Michael Flood who will captain the side and Jack O’Connor are the two players who retain their place from last weeks game with Flood moving inside from corner back to pick up the full back berth while O’Connor moves out from the left corner forward position to a more familiar wing forward role.

Two members of last years U-20 team come in at corner back with Brian O’Halloran who is still eligible for the U-20 grade and Brian O’Reilly lining out alongside the captain while Harry Hogan returns between the uprights.  The half back line is all change with John O’Regan (another member of this years U-20 panel), Niall Murphy and Adam McDonnell all coming into the side.

Diarmuid Moriarty who lined out at full forward for UCD in the Sigerson Cup earlier this week will be partnered at midfield by Danny Dixon who returns to the county panel this year off the back of an impressive showing in the Bradys Skoda Regional Football Championship.  Jack O’Connor is joined in the half forward line by debutant Diarmuid McCabe and another player who starred in this weeks Sigerson Cup action, Ruairí Kinsella.  The inside line is made up of Daire Rowe, Cathal Finnegan and Keith Curtis.
