Moriarty returns to the matchday panel

If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it appears to be the mantra coming out of Dunganny this week as Colm O’Rourke and his selectors have named an unchanged starting XV for the Allianz Football League Division 2 Round 5 encounter with Cavan on Saturday evening in Kingspan Breffni.

That means Brian O’Halloran, who impressed at left corner back after being a late addition to the starting line up a week ago against Kildare, retains his place in the full back line alongside Adam O’Neill and the experienced Donal Keogan.

The sole alteration on the matchday panel sees Diarmuid Moriarty, who missed out on the victories over Louth and Kildare, return to take his place among the replacements as Jason Scully drops out of the 26.

Sean Brennan continues in goals behind that full back line of Keogan, O’Neill & O’Halloran while the half back line has a familiar hue to it with Darragh Campion anchoring the defensive effort at centre back and he is flanked by Ciaran Caulfield and Sean Coffey.

At midfield, the partnership of team captain Ronan Jones and Cian McBride continues and the half forward line is another which has a familiar look to it with Daithí McGowan, Eoghan Frayne and Jack O’Connor lining up together.

The inside forward line sees Shane Walsh, Mathew Costello and Cathal Hickey once more link up.  Hickey has now lined out on every line of the field for Meath except in goals, having previously lined out at full back, corner back, wing back, midfield and wing forward.
