Meath selection unveiled for Westmeath encounter

The theme of a consistent match selection for the Meath Senior Hurling team continues for the Allianz Hurling League Division 2 Round 3 as Johnny Greville and his management team have once more opted for the same starting selection that lined out against London a fortnight ago in the Round 1 victory.

That said, they have opted for a number of positional switches in the selection as well as making one alteration on the replacements bench as Kevin Mulligan from Rathmolyon comes into the match day panel in place of Tom Condon.

The goalkeeper and six defenders are unchanged in terms of both personnel and position from where they were selected to play against London with Gavin King lining out once more between the uprights and he will have Conor Leavy, Daire Shine and Jarlath Ennis in front of him in the full back line.

Simon Ennis will once more hold down the centre back berth and he is flanked by Darragh Heffernan and Sean Geraghty in the wing back positions.

There is a fresh look to the named midfield pairing as Eoin Donegan switches out from his wing forward berth of previous games to the middle of the field and he is joined by Joey Cole who was named at centre forward two weeks ago.

Tom Shine pushes in to wing forward with Lorcan Byrne at centre forward and the fresh look to the half forward line is completed by Mark Leavy who switches out from the corner to left half forward.

Damien Healy will line out on the edge of the square at full forward and he is joined in the inside line of the attack by Mikey Cole and Darren O’Higgins.
