Meath selection revealed for Laois test

After a break weekend last week, it’s back to action on Sunday in the Allianz Hurling League when we welcome Laois to Páirc Tailteann for the penultimate round of the Division 2A League.

Off the back of the defeat to Kerry in Austin Stack Park, Seoirse Bulfin has opted to draft the fit again Jarlath Ennis back into the starting XV and he comes in at left corner back in what is a new look full back line to what was named to start against Kerry.

Daire Shine who was named at right half back a fortnight ago, drops back into the full back position where he will line up alongside his clubmate Seanie Geraghty who dons the number 2 jersey.

That positional switch for Shine sees Shane Whitty move out from full back to left half back and in a second alteration to the back six, Ciarán Lonergan from St. Peter’s Dunboyne comes in at right half back while Simon Ennis once more anchors the defence from centre back.

Joint Captain Charlie Ennis will once more operate in goals.

Af midfield, the pairing of Kris Gorman and Tom Shine link up once more but further forward there are some positional switches to what was named against Kerry.

James Murray switches from left half forward to the opposite flank with James Kelly moving out to lead the attack at centre forward and Padraig O’Hanrahan pushing out to left half forward.

This means Nicky Potterton, Jack Walsh and James Toher form the inside line with Walsh retaining his place after being a late addition to the side a fortnight ago.
