Leinster Final Team Named

The first of the big games this weekend for the county sides takes place this evening (Friday) when we take on Kildare in the Electric Ireland Leinster Minor Football Championship Final at 19:35 in Laois Hire O’Moore Park.

And ahead of the game, Trevor Giles and his management team have gone with the old adage of ‘of it’s not broken, don’t fix it’, as they have opted to make no alterations to the team or match day panel from that which disposed of the challenge of Dublin in last week’s semi-final.

Tickets for the final are available via Meath vs Kildare Tickets – Please note U-16’s have free admission.

Just as he has done throughout the campaign, team captain Harry McGuirk will wear the number six jersey when he leads the team out for the decider and he will have familiar faces either side of him in the half back line in the form of Liam O’Donoghue and Niall Smyth.

His Navan O’Mahony’s clubmate Cormac Fitzsimons lines out in goals, with the full back line of Ben Browne, Tomás Clarke and Niall Rogan in front of him.

John Killoran and Tomas Proudfoot form the by now regular midfield pairing, with Killoran having come into the side over the course of the Championship.

Conn Brennan from St. Ultan’s leads the attack from the forty, with Cormac McKenna and Alex Keane manning the wing forward positions.

The lively Cormac Walsh and Dara Loughran occupy the corner forward roles and at full forward Milo Stafford will be on the edge of the square.
