The group stages of the various hurling championships are progressing and despite the challenges thrown up by the unseasonably wet weather this weekend, there were no matches lost to poor conditions. Saturday proved to be a very busy day for our Competitions Control Committee (CCC) with anxious calls throughout the day as to the condition of pitches following the deluge of rain which came overnight and into Saturday morning but all pitches bar one passed pitch inspections and the game that was lost in Ratoath was salvaged as the clubs involved agreed to play it on a home or away basis.
