Hurling Championship Round 2 – Friday Team News

We have a busy evening of action to look forward to this evening (Friday) in the hurling championships with five games on the cards, four in the Ted Murtagh Clothing & Footwear Senior Hurling Championship and one in the JM Food Services sponsored Intermediate Hurling Championship.

The Ted Murtagh Clothing & Footwear SHC and JM Food Services IHC games are all ticket and are priced as follows.

  • General Admission – €10
  • Student/OAP – €5
  • Children U-16 accompanied by an adult attend for free.

Tickets for all the SHC & IHC games can be purchased via the Meath GAA App which can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play Store

The K Windows & Doors JHC & J2HC games are pay at the gate and the admission fee is €5 per adult.

In Group A of the Ted Murtagh Clothing & Footwear, Trim SHC, Kiltale and Ratoath meet in Páirc Tailteann with both sides having had contrasting fortunes in the opening round.  Kiltale slumped to a heavy defeat against Trim while edged Killyon in a tight battle.  Will Kiltale bounce back to winning ways or will Ratoath pull off a significant victory?  The other game in Group A sees Killyon and Kildalkey meet in Longwood with Killyon looking to build upon a promising Round 1 performance, albeit one that ended un defeat and Kildalkey looking to make it two wins from two after they edged Na Fianna a fortnight ago.

Group B also has two interesting games to look forward to with Clann na nGael and St. Peter’s Dunboyne who both recorded opening round victories meeting in Rathmolyon at 19:30 while Dunderry and Kilmessan who both lost in Round 1 meet at the same time in Trim.  Dunderry were very unfortunate to lose out in dramatic circumstances while Kilmessan fell to an eleven point defeat.  Will it be the 2022 IHC winners who pick up the first win for either of these sides?

The solitary fixture in the JM Food Services Intermediate Hurling Championship sees Drumree and Boardsmill face off in Batterstown.  Drumree impressed when accounting for Navan O’Mahonys by five points two weeks ago while Boardsmill eked out a one point victory over Rathmolyon.  This is likely to be tight, with Boardsmill looking to use their recent experience in Senior to their advantage.
