Hurling Championship Round 1 Results

Round 1 of the Hurling Championships is almost complete with just a single game outstanding across the Ted Murtagh Clothing & Footwear, Trim Senior Hurling Championship and the J.M. Food Services Intermediate Hurling Championship, thanks to the postponement of the St. Peter’s Dunboyne and Gaeil Colmcille.

Trim defeating reigning champions Kildalkey in the SHC was an eye catching result but arguably the performance of the weekend in the top grade came from neighbouring Longwood who were sensational at times in their defeat of Blackhall Gaels.  Sean Coloe turned in an outstanding personal showing as he helped himself to a haul of nine points, all of which came from play.

In the IHC, defeated 2023 finalists Navan O’Mahony’s showed that they will once more be a team to watch as they defeated Donaghmore/Ashbourne by six points and in the parish derby played in Longwood, the more experienced Boardsmill downed a youthful Trim.
