The Allianz Hurling League commencement is only days away and Johnny Greville has revealed a thirty-six strong panel ahead of this weekend’s opening round fixture against Donegal with some returning faces and new recruits to the senior inter-county fold among the panel.

 

The Round 1 fixture against Donegal which was originally scheduled for Sunday next, January 26, will now be played twenty-four hours earlier on Saturday January 25 at 14:00 in Trim.

 

In total, there are fifteen clubs represented on the panel with 2024 Ted Murtagh Clothing & Footwear SHC semi-finalists Kilmessan having the biggest representation with six players.  The Jubilee Cup winners Ratoath are second on the list with five players followed by Kildalkey, Kilskyre/Moylagh and Trim who have four each.

 

Among the players returning to the fold this year is 2023 Christy Ring Cup Player of the Year Jack Regan, the Cole brothers from Trim (Mikey and Joey), the Kildalkey duo of Evan Fitzgerald and Martin Healy,  Kyle Donnelly and Sean Doyle of Kilmessan as well as Darragh Kelly and Cian Rogers from Ratoath.

 

Included among the fresh faces on the panel are Darren O’Higgins from Kilskyre/Moylagh who is still eligible for the U-20 grade, Cian Field of Donaghmore/Ashbourne, Tiernan Anderson of Gaeil Colmcille and Oisín Bright of the Na Fianna club.

 

There are three sets of brothers on the panel, the Cole’s (Mikey and Joey), the Ennis’ (Jarlath and Simon) and the Rogers’ (Cian and Domhnall).
