Coaching and Games successfully hosted the first Go Games Coach Development Day of the year. The event is designed to support and upskill coaches involved in coaching underage Gaelic games in Meath.
The workshop, rolled out simultaneously at multiple regional venues by Participation Officers, attracted strong participation from clubs across the county and further showed our commitment to grassroots coaching.
The primary aims of the Go Games Coach Development Day are:
• To enhance the coaching capabilities of Go Games mentors.
• To promote a child-centred coaching philosophy.
• To provide practical, age-appropriate coaching techniques.

Workshops were held at several GAA club venues located across the county to maximize accessibility.
See the graphic for a summary of the key learnings by the coaches on the day.

Over 150 coaches representing more than 30 clubs took part in the sessions. The turnout reflected the growing enthusiasm and commitment among club volunteers to developing young players in a positive, supportive environment.
Next up for Go Games coaches in May we have Developing Movement in Children and for June there will be a workshop around Games Based Coaching. Regional mentoring visits are being planned by Participation Officers to reinforce learnings at club level.

Thanks are extended to all participating clubs, coaches and facilitators for their enthusiastic engagement and contributions.
