Congratulations David Gough
Congratulations David Gough

Coiste na Mí C.L.G. are delighted to learn that Slane match official David Gough has been appointed to referee the upcoming All-Ireland SFC Final between Dublin and Kerry.

This will be the second All-Ireland SFC Final that David will have refereed, following on from the 2019 decider which was also between Dublin and Kerry.  Among the fixtures in this years Championship which he took charge of was the Ulster Final between Derry and Armagh.

David will be assisted by his four umpires who are all members of the Gough family and like David, members of the Slane club.  Having the familiar faces of Dean, Eugene, Stephen and Terry will no doubt be reassuring on the big day.

County Board Chairman John Kavanagh passed on his congratulations to David upon hearing of his appointment.

“I am delighted for David and his team of umpires on the news that he will be the referee for the eagerly awaited All-Ireland Final between Dublin and Kerry.  Following on from the 2019 decider, it is a reflection of the high esteem he is held in by the officials in Croke Park that David has been appointed for a second final in five seasons.  His calm presence on the field and excellent decision making, marks him out as a fantastic referee and on behalf of Coiste na Mí C.L.G., I wish to congratulate him on his appointment.”
