The Celtic Challenge got underway last weekend and Meath welcomed Laois to Dunganny for a high noon encounter which was played in the eye of Storm Kathleen.
Meath won by 1-15 to 2-7.
Meath led by 8 points at half time after playing with a strong wind in the first half. Meath showed great spirit and work ethic in second half, along with scoring a number of well worked points, to come out on top in the first round of the Celtic Challenge.
Meath play Kildare next Saturday in round 2 of the competition.
