Christy RIng Cup Round 1 Team News

The Christy Ring Cup commences on Saturday when Meath welcome London to St. Loman’s Park in Trim for the opening round fixture and the Meath selection for that game has been unveiled by Johnny Greville and his management team.

There are three changes to the side which lost out to Kildare in the final round of the Allianz Hurling League as Martin Healy, Domhnall Rogers and Seán Quigley make way for Kyle Donnelly, James Cooke and Seán Corbett while there are a host of positional switches.

Colm O’Riordan continues in goals and he will have the Ennis brothers, Jarlath and Simon in front of him in the corner back positions and Darragh Kelly at full back.  Kyle Donnelly returns to the side in his familiar right half back role and he is partnered in the half back line by James Toher who drops back from attack and Seán Coloe.

James Cooke and Kris Gorman form the midfield pairing as the Kilskyre/Moylagh and Kilmessan men link up.  Joint Captain Nicky Potterton lines out at centre forward and he is flanked by Damien Healy and Lorcan Byrne.  The inside forward line sees Seán Corbett and Jack Regan joined by Mikey Cole of the host club.

Among the replacements bench are goalkeeper Brendan Smith who makes his first match day panel of the year and also David Murtagh and Rory Fagan who return to the panel.
