• Nursery Workshop

This is the introductory practical workshop based around Fundamental movement skills to teach new coaches/parents who are joining the Club Nursery Programme the activities most suited to the programme & generate further ideas. This course is certifiable only for the time a coach spends with the nursery.

Duration: 1.5 hours

  • Introduction to Coaching Gaelic Games (ICGG)

The Introduction to Coaching Gaelic Games is the introductory course for coaches of Gaelic Games including GAA, LGFA & Camogie. The course is aimed at beginner coaches and will enable participants to teach the basic skills of the game through drills & fun activities. Participants must be aged 18+ to complete this course. This is course is usually held over 3 sessions and include both theory & practical elements.

Duration: 8 hours

  • Award One

The Award 1 Coach course is the second award on the coaching pathway. The course is aimed at coaches that have completed the ICGG, have experience as a coach & takes into account the different playing capacities that exist between children (up to 12 years), youths (age 13–18) and Adults (age 19+). This course consists of 7/8 modules.

Duration: 16 – 20 hours

  • Award Two

The Award 2 course is the third award on the coaching pathway. The course is aimed at experienced coaches that have progressed through the ICGG and Award 1 programmes & like the Award 1 is divided into child, youth and adult.

Duration: 27 hours

  • GAA Child Safeguarding Course

This course is for all people in the GAA that work with underage players – up to age 18. The Code of Behaviour addresses the minimum appropriate levels of behaviour, practice and conduct required from our Young Players, Coaches, Supporters, Parents/Guardians, Referees and Clubs. This must now be completed alongside the ICGG.

  • GAA Primary Teacher Workshop

This is a workshop designed for teachers to cover the basic skills of football and hurling. Participants will gain confidence in delivering elements of the PE curriculum through Gaelic Games. It is ideal for teachers new to the games as well as introduce new ideas to those with experience. Can be ran in one school or a number of schools.

  • Turas Workshop

This is a presentation of the Leinster GAA Pathway which offers a series of workshops and coaching sessions to emphasise the needs and abilities of players at each stage on the pathway and assist coaches in developing age appropriate activities in an learning environment.

Duration: 1.5 hours

  • Grip & Swing

A workshop designed to ensure coaches know and understand how to implement and develop the core ground hurling and striking from the hand skills with children starting to play hurling/camogie.

Duration: 1.5 hours

  • Coaching the Bilateral Skills

This workshop is designed to ensure coaches know and understand how to implement and develop the core skills for 7 – 11 year olds and use both sides of the body.

Duration: 1.5 hours

  • Coaching the Go Game

An interactive workshop to provide support coaches on Go Game days. Coaches will discuss all the ways to challenge and develop players during games and most importantly make it enjoyable for all children.

Duration: 1 hour

  • Find Your Keepers

A workshop for all Go Games coaches to cater for and promote the position of Goalkeeper in Go Games. Learn fun activities to incorporate into training sessions and introduce the Leinster Goalkeeping resource which gives more details on Goalkeeping skills.

Duration: 1 hour

  • GAA 15 Warm-up/Mobility

This workshop is directed at club coaches assisting them in the areas of aerobic and dynamic stretching and sports specific drills helping to protect them from injuries. This also includes advice in the areas of recovery and nutrition for sport.

Duration: 1 hour

  • Go Games Referee Course

Train participants to referee official Go Games matches from u7 – u11. Theory based session online with follow up practical session and feedback and support from the club PO. The minimum age is 16 but 15 year olds can referee u7 games only.

Duration: 2 hours
