There is a relatively small programme of games on today (Sunday) in the Hurling Championships with one Ted Murtagh Clothing & Footwear, Trim Senior Hurling Championship fixture and two JM Food Services Intermediate Hurling Championship games on the cards.
Killyon and Na Fianna takes centre stage in Páirc Tailteann at 13:00 and both sides will have been targeting this from a long way out. For Killyon, it is a first Championship game since the sad passing of Kit Mitchell last December and there is sure to be plenty of motivation around the club to pick up a win in his memory today.
Kildalkey’s second side remain in the JM Food Services IHC after winning it following a replay last year and they come up against a Kilskyre/Moylagh side buoyed by their recent League success. However, the north Meath side don’t have a wonderful record against Kildalkey and they will be put to the pin of their collar to come away from Rathmolyon with a win.
The second of the IHC games sees Longwood hosting a local derby as Trim and Boardsmill do battle. Trim didn’t use up any of their substitutes yesterday so have a full compliment of players to choose from and with the depth of talent they have available after a glut of underage success in recent seasons, they will be confident of defeating their fellow parishioners.
