There is only one place to be this evening for Meath Gaels as the Fairyhouse Steel Senior Football Championship throws in with a repeat of the 2022 quarter final meeting of Ratoath and Moynalvey in Skryne. Can Moynalvey overturn their defeat in last years championship or will the reigning champions get their campaign off to the perfect start?
This evenings game is all ticket and are priced as follows.
- General Admission – €10
- Student/OAP – €5
- Children U-16 accompanied by an adult attend for free.
Tickets for all games can be purchased via the Meath GAA App which can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play Store.
Both of these clubs are managed by former Meath teammates with Kevin Reilly pulling on the Bainisteoir bib for Ratoath and Caoimhín King doing likewise for Moynalvey. Reilly has had an impressive start to life on the sideline in Ratoath as the club claimed glory in Division 1A of the League for the first time while King oversaw a mixed season in Division 1B as Moynalvey picked up four wins, one draw and six defeats.
If the teams line out as selected, we could be set for an intriguing battle between county teammates David McGowan and Cillian O’Sullivan. O’Sullivan has been named in the somewhat unusual role for him of centre back and how he adapts to the role of anchoring the defence while picking up McGowan is one individual battle that onlookers in Skryne are sure to keep a keen eye on.
