There are seven changes in personnel on the Meath Hurling team for Sunday’s Christy Ring Cup Round 1 encounter with Mayo from our last Championship fixture which came eleven months ago when Down came out on top in Ballycran.
The eight survivors from that fixture are Charlie Ennis, Damien Healy, Brendan McKeon, Sean Geraghty, Stephen Morris, Jack Regan, James Kelly and Mikey Cole and only three of these players are pencilled in to start in the same position as they did on that May afternoon in 2022.
Such is the rapid pace of change in the Meath Senior Hurling side in 2023 and after a positive Allianz League campaign which concluded just under two weeks ago with a promotion achieving victory in the final over Donegal, hopes are high that the feel good factor will continue in Páirc Tailteann on Sunday afternoon when we welcome Mayo to the Commons Road venue.
