Meath G.A.A. welcomes the news from the GAA Central Council that the return of the playing our Gaelic games is on the horizon.
The Gaelic Games Safe Return Roadmap (Click to read it) has issued guidelines that we must now implement:
- The opening of the G.A.A. walking tracks for recreational use in groups of no more than four people today
- All G.A.A. pitches open on June 29th and training will recommence for Adult and Juvenile teams in small groups
- From 20th July, all forms of team and group training are permitted.
- The resumption of club competitions for all cohorts will start from Friday, July 31st and finish on Sunday, October 11th (11 weeks)
With this in mind, our Competitions Control Committee is meeting this week to finalise the plans for the commencement of the Meath GAA Club Championships.
We will be publishing the draws of our County Championships live on LMFM, Meath Chronicle, and on the Meath GAA social media channels in the coming weeks.
The nation is entering Phase 2 today, and we encourage all our players, members, supporters, and the wider community to please support our local sponsors and businesses in Meath during these difficult times.
Please #StayLocal and #ShopLocal
