Law, governance, GAA and a healthy dose of club life. Aoife Farrelly brings all four to her role as Treasurer of Páirc Tailteann CLG, where she has been a member of the committee since 2021.
A former practising barrister with over 20 years of professional experience, Aoife currently serves as County Registrar for Meath and Louth. She also has an extensive record of service within the GAA, currently sitting on the GAA’s Ethics and Integrity Committee and Leinster Hearings Committee. Her previous committee memberships include the Central Hearings Committee, Leinster Management Committee and the Disputes Resolution Authority (DRA), where she spent 14 years.
That combination of legal, regulatory and GAA governance experience brings a particular perspective to Páirc Tailteann CLG, with Aoife providing insight and oversight across governance, compliance, financial matters and organisational decision making.
But there is plenty more to Aoife’s GAA life than meeting rooms and governance structures.
A Trim woman, Aoife grew up following Trim and Meath with her father, Pat. Her own children’s involvement in the GAA brought her further into club life, and she remains firmly involved at Trim today.
She is currently Juvenile Communications Officer and is part of the coaching team for the club’s 2015 born girls. She has previously served as Vice Chair of Trim LGFA, as well as Insurance Officer, and has served on the club’s Executive Committee.
So while her professional and GAA governance experience brings a wealth of expertise to the Páirc Tailteann project, Aoife’s connection with the Association is also very much about the everyday stuff of club life: communication, coaching, committees and being part of the community.
It’s a broad GAA perspective, and one she brings to the table as Páirc Tailteann takes shape for the future.
