The first Allianz Football League Division 2 home game of the 2025 season takes place tomorrow (Sunday) and the Meath team to take on Cavan in the first of what is many local derbies in the division for the Royal County has been revealed.
The management team have opted to make two alterations to the starting XV which took to the field in Super Valu Páirc Uí Chaoimh last weekend with Brian O’Halloran and Cian McBride coming into the side in place of Eoin Harkin and Keith Curtis.
Fresh from lining out between the uprights for University of Limerick midweek in the Electric Ireland Sigerson Cup, Billy Hogan continues in goals with a full back line of Seamus Lavin, Adam O’Neill and the returning Brian O’Halloran in front of him.
At half back, Donal Keogan is named at centre back with Seán Coffey and Ciarán Caulfield flanking him on the wings as Jack Flynn and Bryan Menton continue their midfield partnership.
Cian McBride is another who played Sigerson Cup midweek and after helping TU Dublin qualify for the last four of the competition, he comes in at wing forward with Shane Walsh and Jack Kinlough completing the line.
The inside attacking line is unchanged from the game against Cork with Jordan Morris, Mathew Costello and Eoghan Frayne all continuing.
