26th July -
Leinster U16 Final
Meath v Dublin - Sean Eiffe Park, Ratoath Sunday July 30th 2006 Throw in 2p.m.
Meath Ladies again will face the challenge of Dublin on July 30th, this time its the Leinster U/16 final. Meath u/16s haven't beaten Dublin at this age group since they won back to back All Irelands in 2001. This will be a very tough challenge for Meath girls but they will be going all out to emulate the Seniors who set up their Leinster final clash by beating Dublin by a solitary point. Manager Dave Gorman is confident his charges will give the Dublin girls a run for their money and capture the Leinster crown once again. All clubs are asked to support the girls on this huge occasion. 23rd July - Sports Gear Presentation

Half time score: Galway 0 - 04 Meath 0 - 08
Full time score: Galway 2 - 12 Meath 1 - 12
Meath playing with the wind in the first half got off to the best possible start when Katie O'Brien opened the scoring after 5 minutes. Meath were the first to settle and rattled off 6 unanswered points before Galway hit their first point of the half in the 19th minute courtesy of midfielder Annette Clarke. Meath once again restored their 6 point advantage almost immediately when Ger Doherty send over another point. Galway seemed to find their way after that and managed 3 more points before the end of the half. Meath were still looking good at this point but were going to have to work hard in the second half because of the strong wind. On the resumption Galway came out with all guns blazing and had a ten minute spell where they rattled off 2 - 04. The Meath backs were under severe pressure and just couldn't find a way of closing down the Galway forwards, notably Niamh Fahy and Annette Clarke. Jenny Rispin, Jane Burke and Suzanne McCormack were doing their best for Meath but just couldn't stop the onslaught. Meath had their best spell of the second half after Aoife Thompson netted for Meaths only goal of the game. But it was too little too late for the Royal girls. Meath(home) now play Donegal in the Round 4 postponed game. This will determine who finishes third in the group.
Meath team and scorers: Caroline Griffin, Jenny Rispin, Jane Burke, Suzanne McCormack, Katie O'Brien(1pt), Edel McGrane, Sinead Dooley, Elaine Lynch, Mary Sheridan, Michelle Doyle, Shauna Bennett, Michelle Dunne, Geraldine Doherty(1pt), Gillian Bennett(8pts), Aoife Thompson(1-1).
