OCTOBER 2006

Work on Centre of Excellence at Dunganny is progressing satisfactorily as you will have seen recently the pitches are now in limited use. Since Jan 2006 the following work has been done or is being planned.

  • 1 Goalposts and Ball stops have been installed @ cost €60,000 approx.

  •  2 Contracts being finalised for floodlighting the 3 pitches @ cost €300,000
  •  3 Generators have to purchased due to high cost of getting ESB to site
           cost @  €70,000 .

4 Finishing work is being completed around the playing areas @ cost €20,000

This element of the project is well advanced and we expect to have this work completed by August 2006.

NEXT STEPS

1.Erection of changing Rooms and installation of Treatment Plant cost @ €300,000 we are now preparing our planning application for these.

2 Purchase and instalation of ALL WEATHER FLOODLIGHT FULL SIZE PLAYING PITCH @ at cost €1.2m.

We want to have this all weather pitch in place for training our county teams / club teams by the end of this year. The one thing that 2006 has proved once again is that we cannot rely on our weather and we must have state of the art all weather facilities to enable our teams to be properly prepared.
