Go Games blitz day in

Dunganny on Saturday coming August 27th

A chara,

Please pass the following information to the relevant person(s) in your club regarding the final football Go Games blitz day in Dunganny on Saturday coming August 27th.

*Each club has been allocated times to attend as can be seen on attached files.

*Each team is allocated a pitch they will be playing on - no fixtures are being sent out to avoid confusion - the supervisor of each pitch will have these on the morning.

*All clubs are asked to arrive at Dunganny approximately half hour before playing time to ensure the day runs smoothly.

*To avoid traffic congestion we ask that clubs limit amount of vehicles that will be coming to the venue. This will also avoid disappointing children as due to time schedule a delay due to traffic will lead to fewer games There will be helpers directing traffic into car park - please make sure they are adhered to. Each car will be asked to pay €1 (the money will be used for incentives for referees and First aid).

*All games will start and finish at the same time using a hooter system - for this reason we ask all clubs to be ready to start on time - otherwise playing time will be shortened.

*Each team will play two 20 minute games (8 minutes each half with 2 minute half time) and a short break will be given to all teams at the same time. After the break each team will play two more 20 minute games.

*Go games rules apply as usual. Any club that requires a set please come to the information area.

*Can any clubs with young whistlers interested in refereeing on the day please forward the names to me tomorrow.

*Please ensure that all players come togged out - as dressing rooms will not be available unless necessary. Also due to the weather - we ask that changes of gear and jackets are brought by everyone.

*All players are asked to bring refreshments - if needed. There will be refreshments available to purchase - we ask that Dunganny is kept clean and use bins provided.

*First aid, toilets, refreshments, information area will all be located at the dressing rooms.

For any more information please do not hesitate to contact a member of staff.

Looking forward to the day.

A Chara

Another reminder that a "Fundamentals Workshop" will be held in St Pats Classical School Navan on Wednesday February 9th from 7.30-9.30pm. This course is free.

We would ask you to forward this information to the relevant coaches in your club. Remember the Nursery is for children age 4-7yrs . Clubs who have a Nursery in place may wish to send additional coaches who have joined their programme this year and clubs who are only establishing their new programme should have plenty of new faces to attend.

It will be a "fun" evening to encourage new parents and coaches to assist with "Nursery Programmes" in their club and will highlight the fact that it is an opportunity for parents and children to play.

Secondly we have a "Code Of Best Practice " Course on Monday 7th February in Teach an Teamhrach, Navan from 7-10pm. This course is €10 per person.

Please forward names to me as soon as possible of those who wish to attend either course by reply to this email or contact me on 087 6601267 (Mon-Fri).

Finally my apologies for all emails going to you, the secretary, but we do not have our new Coaching Officer contact list completed yet.

We ask any club who have their AGM completed to forward the names and contact details of Club Coaching Officer & School Liason Officer to us in the Coaching & Games Office by reply to this email.

A chara,

A reminder to all Juvenile Clubs that a meeting for those clubs who wish to start a Club Nursery Programme in 2009, will take place in Walterstown G.F.C. on Monday, January the 26th at 7.30pm.

A presentation of what the programme involves and what methods a club may follow to achieve a successful “Nursery Programme” will be given by the Games Development Administrator.

We had 13 clubs involved in 2008 with this initiative. Many of these clubs started up completely new projects with our assistance, while a number of other clubs had a Club Nursery Programme already in existence but came on board with the Coaching and Games Scheme to develop their own system.

Please make contact with one of the full time staff if you wish your club to be included in this programme for 2009.

We would ask that at least 2 representatives of the club would attend the above meeting. Ideally they need to be directly involved in the Juvenile section of the Club and willing to drive the the project internally.

Yours in Sport,

Christine O’Brien.
