Ballivor GAA Club was formed in 1929 and entered the Junior Football Championship 1930. Football goes back much further than 1929, Old RIC records show there was a football team named Sir Charles Russell’s here. We currently have 4 Adult and 14 juvenile teams. Ballivor have won 4 Championships at intermediate level 1948, 1971, 1981 and 2001. Junior title, 2011. Leinster Junior title, 2011. Ballivor were narrowly defeated in Senior final in 1973.
Our Underage section continues to grow and many of these teams have won titles and represent their club with distinction.
Ballivor has produced many fine teams and footballers over the years. Until the Meath team of the late 80’s Meath had not won an All-Ireland without a player from Ballivor.
Ballivor club players who hold All-Ireland medals include Bertie Cunningham, Conor Martin, Patsy McGearty, Willie Rispin, Paddy Dixon and Fergus McMahon.
Ballivor are currently undergoing a development process which will add a second playing pitch and an Astro Turf pitch to the club’s facilities.
Ballivor’s original team colours were green with a maroon sash.
